Valentine LOVE

This poem was written for a local Valentine's poetry contest. I wanted to capture simple-sweet truths about love.

LOVE, Felt through a photograph

Sent on wishing stars

Shooting to the moon and back

No distance is too far

LOVE, Felt in the words of song

Sent in silent prayer

So you can feel its tenderness

When no one else is there

LOVE, Felt in the pouring rain

Sent in simple smiles

Lifting loads, a million tons

Defying hopeless trials

Our love is like the universe

Full of mystery

Like ocean waves upon a shore

Running wild and free

You are the dream I see at night

No question in my mind

I’d be honored if you’d please

Be my Valentine <3
