About Me

About Me

I was born in Germany and raised in the Southern United States. I developed a love for writing at an early age. During elementary school, I began to recognize that writing was something enjoyable that utilized creativity. I remember making the goal to take every seemingly ordinary writing prompt and turn it into an extraordinary paper by adding figurative language, colorful vocabulary, and a variety of syntax. My response to the question "What do you want to be when you grow up?" was normally, "I want to be an author and illustrator." I still characterize my dream to write as my main endeavor and passion. This dream has lead me to pursue a Bachelor's of English at Brigham Young University-Idaho. I am a writer several years in the making.

Work Experience

Work Experience

September 2021 – December 2022

I work as a reporter for 94.3FM, the BYU-Idaho radio station. Under my community beat, I interview relevant professionals, business owners, and authority figures about newsworthy topics. The then take the recorded interviews, edit them, create shortened audio packages, and write detailed articles using the information I gather. I have interviewed Dallin H. Oaks, Governor Brad Little, former Idaho representative Linden Bateman, Instagramer Sharon McMahon, The Piano Guys, singers Mat and Savanna Shaw, and several others.

October 2019 – December 2020

I tutored for BYU-Pathway Worldwide students. I assisted students of all ages and varying linguistic backgrounds with improving their academic writings. My tutoring services were available to two online courses through Pathway Connect.

May 3, 2019 – July 23, 2019

For the duration of a semester, I worked as a Basic Writing Tutor and met with students weekly to ensure their understanding of the course material as outlined in their grammar workbooks. I developed working relationships with the students and tried to facilitate a tutor environment where they felt comfortable asking grammar-related questions.

August 2018 – December 2018

I served as a Deputy Jailer at the Logan County Detention Center in Russellville, Kentucky. I oversaw study time for a classroom of inmates who were completing the GED program offered through the detention center. I served in several other Deputy Jailer capacities before leaving my job to attend school in Idaho.
